Privacy Awareness Week 2022

Apr 28, 2022

At Kalus Kenny Intelex we value the privacy of our clients and take data protection seriously. This is why we are proud to support Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) for the fourth year running!

PAW is an annual campaign led by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) that highlights the importance of protecting personal information and aims to help individuals, organisations and agencies understand the ways in which they can do so.

This year, PAW runs from Monday 2 May 2022 to Sunday 8 May 2022 and the theme is ‘Privacy – The Foundation of Trust’.

So be sure to check out our website and LinkedIn page next week for some useful information and tips from us.

Before then, check out these simple privacy habits suggested by the OAIC that you can start implementing today:

  1. Take time to understand the importance of your personal information. This information reveals who you are, what you do and what you believe, so it is worth protecting.
  2. Make sure you trust who you share your information with. Draw boundaries between what you share publicly and with those you trust, and don’t be afraid to question why you are being asked for certain information.
  3. Use multi-factor authentication and strong passwords or passphrases to protect your accounts and devices which contain personal information.
  4. Install updates to fix issues and address new security concerns on your devices to help prevent others from accessing your personal information.
