Did you know that new employment contracts must not include a clause that requires employees to keep their pay and related terms and conditions confidential?
Existing contracts that contain a pay secrecy clause remain effective until the employment contract is varied, which could include a minor variation.
From June 2023, employers who include pay secrecy clauses in their employment contracts could face financial penalties. Until this time, if a pay secrecy clause is included in an employment contract, it will be void and unenforceable.
